Mucho Macho Man worked 5 eights today ( Jan. 8th) handily, in 59 flat. The worked seemed like it was very useful and he should be sharp enough for the Holy Bull. He should be a factor in the Holy Bull, he's finished second to a really nice colt two times in a row. FEB. 19TH 2011 With Rajiv Maragh picking up the mount for the injured Eibar Coa, Mucho Macho Man held off Santiva to win the $300,000 Risen Star Stakes (gr. II) by 1 1/2 lengths Feb. 19 at Fair Grounds. MARCH 26TH 2011........Mucho Macho Man was beaten into 3rd place by Pants on Fire in the Louisianna Derby. He ran the whole 1 1/8 miles with only 3 shoes.........NEXT RACE...MAY 7, THE KENTUCKY DERBY. His 7 furlong work in 1:23 3/5, following a :58 1/5 drill, has this horse sharp and fit and ready to kick some butt on May 7. But he still has a couple of more works at Churchill and we’ll know more then. Remember, this is a June 15 foal, so there should be a lot more improvement in him. APRIL 18TH....With so many pace horses and stone closers heading to the Derby, he is the kind of grinder you want who can sit in midpack and just keep steadily coming. APRIL 24....Much Macho Man, stretched his legs at the longer seven furlong distance, with a final time of 1:29 1/5. Mucho Macho Man,was the only horse at Churchill working the seven-eighths of a mile distance. Working by himself under jockey Rajiv Maragh, Mucho Macho Man clicked off fractions of :13 3/5, :26 2/5, :39, :51 3/5, 1:04, 1:16 3/5 and galloped out a mile in 1:43 4/5. He will come back and work again Saturday or Sunday.†APRIL 25....Early arrival at Churchill; Working well and has the upside to be trending up to a lifetime best performance in the Derby. APRIL 29....Storylines abound with this colt, and he's done little wrong this year, including during his time and training at Churchill. MAY 4....Trainer Kathy Ritvo was pleased with post 13 for Mucho Macho Man.
